dc.description.abstract This annotated bibliography is designed to provide brief analyses of a comprehensive selection of publications that exemplify the experience of Jewish lives in New Zealand from the earliest settlement records in 1828 to 2012. These resources have been complied from fictional and non-fictional sources; print, audio and visual media; and both Jewish and non-Jewish authors from inside and outside of New Zealand. They chronicle the events from the period before the first synagogues were built though the development of Jewish New Zealander‘s unusual relationship with the Maori to the influx of refugees from World War II and their eventual assimilation into the broader New Zealand culture. en_NZ
